Notifications
What the guest hears, what the restaurant hears, and through which channel.
To the guest
The guest can be kept posted on the state of their order: received, accepted, ready. Which of those moments are reported is set by the restaurant, separately per channel.
Out of the box all three go out by e-mail, and by SMS only the one that really counts, namely ready. The difference has a simple reason: an e-mail costs nothing, an SMS costs money and counts against your credit.
By e-mail on every plan and with no limit on the number. By SMS from the Pro plan.
Anyone who uses the app and is signed in gets the message as a push. Push is free and replaces the paid channel in that case; if it does not arrive, the message still goes out over the channel you set.
SMS and credit
SMS cost money per message, so there is an included amount per calendar month and, beyond that, credit.
- Starter: no SMS to guests.
- Pro: 50 orders a month with SMS included.
- Premium: 150 orders a month with SMS included.
- Topping up credit: 100 SMS for 12 euro, 250 for 28 euro, 500 for 54 euro, each plus VAT.
- On request the credit tops itself up automatically when it runs low.
When the credit is used up
Then the SMS pause until the first of the month and the e-mails carry on. That is the right direction: no message is worse than a message over another channel, but an unpaid invoice would be worse than both.
The dashboard warns before it gets that far, and early enough that a pack still arrives in time.
To the restaurant
New orders can also be forwarded to a kitchen e-mail address or to a web address of your own (webhook). That is in every plan and is the simple way to connect a receipt printer or an existing system.
This is a setting of the RESTAURANT and sits under Settings, tab Integrations. What lands on one particular person's phone is a different question and is in the section below.

Push in the app, e-mail
Two separate places, and that is on purpose: a colleague who wants no push at night turns it off for HERSELF and not for the whole business.
Without doing anything: the guest gets e-mail as soon as an address is there. Everything else is a switch.
To you personally
There are two kinds of notification in Flavoso, and they get mixed up easily. What the GUEST receives is set by the restaurant: those are the sections above. What YOU receive you set for yourself, under Account, tab Notifications.
Why on the account and not on the restaurant: you have one phone, even if you work in two places, and nobody should be able to fill up somebody else's lock screen. An owner who switched their cook's notifications off centrally would have a cook who hears nothing any more and does not know why.
The list is not the same length for everyone. Only what fits your areas is offered: a driver sees two rows, an owner seven. There are two channels to choose from, the app and e-mail, and not every notification has both.
- New order: as soon as one comes in. App.
- Order cancelled: when an accepted order is called off. App.
- Delivery ready: when an order is done and can be driven out. App. This is the notification for the driver.
- New reservation: when a guest books a table online. App and e-mail, both on out of the box, because a missed booking leaves a guest standing at the door.
- Reservation cancelled: app, e-mail on request.
- Billing: when a payment fails or the plan runs out. App and e-mail.
- New sign-in on your account: you always get the e-mail for that, it cannot be switched off. Its whole point is to reach someone who knows nothing about it.
Getting a notification onto your phone
Notifications in the app go to your ACCOUNT, not to a device. For them to arrive, the Flavoso app has to be installed on the phone and you have to have signed in to it once. After that it holds for every device you are signed in on.
If the “Notifications” page carries a note at the top saying no device is registered yet, that is exactly the reason.
