The events of this restaurant that your connection may see (its read permissions, plus app.* of this connection), oldest first, at most 30 days back. The same events with the same envelope as webhooks, for systems that cannot receive webhooks (a POS in a local network).

Poll with after: pass the next_after of the previous answer and process the events in order. The order never skips an event: an event only appears once everything written before it is complete, so an after you received is safe to keep. Deduplicate on id if you also use webhooks.

A new integration that does not want the past starts with after=latest: the answer has no events, only a next_after that points at the newest event your connection may see, and polling from there delivers everything that happens from now on.

Events are kept for 30 days. An after Flavoso no longer keeps (your system was off for longer) is no error: the list continues with the oldest event still kept and says gap: true. Events may have been missed then; resynchronise with GET /orders?updated_since=… (and the other lists you use).

Test events that check a webhook are never listed: neither ping nor the events sent from the developer console (data.test: true).

Errori

401unauthorized: missing, malformed, expired or revoked access token, or the app was disconnected or suspended.
403insufficient_scope, plan_required (with param when an order type is not in the plan) or account_inactive.
429rate_limited: more than 120 requests per minute on this connection. Wait Retry-After seconds.
500server_error. Safe to retry with the same Idempotency-Key.

One event, exactly as a webhook delivers it, with your connection_id. An event of another connection, one your permissions do not cover, a test event (ping, or one sent from the developer console), or one older than 30 days answers 404.
